Who am I?

Discover where my passion for IT started and where it has lead me

Where I Began

My Love of Tech started at a young age, My Grandad was a Television Technician and used to bring old and broken TVs home for me to take apart and tinker with. From there my passion of taking thing apart and learning how they work started

My First PC

Christmas 2020 was when i brought my first gaming PC after saving up for months. That was the moment i started to tinker with setting up virtual machines, hosting local services and learning alot in the field. Before this I only ever used low powered laptops so i never got to play around with this side of tech. Fun fact: this same system is still in use today within my Homelab Server

College

When i got to College i decided to pick a T-Level in digital support services as it had a good mix of things that i knew and things i wanted to learn. As part of my College course i also needed to complete a apprenticeship relating to IT which i did at Newcastle Academy with there IT Team (you can read more on the experience page). At College i learnt alot more about VMs, how they could be used within business and essenchal skills within Microsoft Server (DHCP, DNS, WDS Servers).

Where I am now

Currently I am working at Kidsgrove Secondary School as there IT Technician, in my free time I’m still learning and expanding my skills within the IT world. Projects like My Homelab server and this website keep me invested within the space and I’m always looking for ways to expand my knowledge.

Whats Next?

The Big question, I’m always looking for ways to challenge myself, I’ve Recently picked up Linux and I’m currently (for now) loving the day to day struggle of learning a new OS. On the Career side of things, I’m interested in exploring CyberSecurity. I want to learn how systems can be protected, where they are vulnerable and what it takes to build secure environments.
